ThracianSREDNA GORA, BULGARIA—Archaeologists have discovered a Thracian temple and a sanctuary dedicated to Zeus and Hera in the central region of Bulgaria. The sanctuary of Zeus and Hera dates to the eighth to sixth centuries B.C., and was probably destroyed in the fifth century by Christians who built a church on the site. Pottery fragments and coins have also been recovered.
