Ruins remain of this frontier defense fort where Buffalo Soldiers bunked down during the Red River War of 1874 and of the town down the hill, one of the Wild West's five most notorious, where Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday rubbed elbows with gamblers, soldiers, saloon girls and outlaws.
