LESBOS, GREECE—Work on a sewer line in the Evergetoula region of the island of Lesbos uncovered an intact burial dating to the eighth century B.C. According to a report in eKathimerini, the Lesbos Department of Antiquities described the woman’s grave as the first from the Geometric Period to be found on the island. It had been lined and covered with slate. Pottery, gold earrings, a large gold bead, a bronze bead, and a bone pin were recovered.
