MADRID—During a routine check of an antique shop in the Spanish town of El Campello, police seized a rare intact vase dating to the second century B.C. and arrested the shop owner. The vase was found in a cardboard box and is thought to have been looted from an archaeological site on Spain’s eastern coast. “We are not yet aware of the full importance of this discovery, but in 20 years’ time we will still be talking about this vase,” said Jose Luis Simon of the Ministry of Culture.
