BRANDENBURG, GERMANY—A badger digging in the earth in northern Germany has revealed a graveyard of medieval Slavish warriors. Archaeologists were called in by local artists who saw the badger's serndipitous find. They eventually revealead eight graves, six belonging to warriors, two to nobleman. One warrior, estimated to have died at age 40, was buried with a doubled-edged sword and a bronze bowl at his feet, indicating he was of a high social class. He also had a bronze buckle with a snake's head on it that the archaeologists say came from Scandanavia.
