NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, ENGLAND—The West Bridgford Wire reports that a construction project in England’s East Midlands town of Newark has uncovered medieval roof tiles, green-glazed pottery thought to have been part of a large jug, the bones of cows and sheep, and boar’s tusks. Neil Jefferson of Contour Archaeology Ltd said that the bones are clues to the diet consumed by the town’s medieval residents. The intact remains of a horse were also recovered from the bottom of a large pit at the site, he added.
