HELSINKI, FINLAND—Finland’s National Museum has received a request from the Iraqi Embassy in Helsinki for the return of six artifacts that were presented to the late President Urho Kekkonen in 1977 by a delegation that included Iraq’s chief state archaeologist at the time. That same year, the president donated the objects to the National Museum. Finland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, its Ministry of Education and Culture, and the National Board of Antiquities came to the conclusion that the artifacts were obtained legally.
